The mission of Art is to make the Soul perceptible.  Woven through the 40,000 year record of world art  is the evolution of human conscious- ness.  The iconography of Art history shows the unfolding creative spirit.  Great works of sacred art in every age and culture have depicted wisdom masters, leaders, and heros in order to represent the pinnacle of evolved consciousness at the time.  Contemplating those icons can catalyze an evolutionary shift of consciousness in the viewer.  In the Orthodox Christian tradition, this is known as theosis, coming closer to God by contemplation of icons.

Art has a function and a mission to interpret the world, to reveal the condition of the soul, to encourage our higher nature and awaken the spiritual faculties within every individual.
