HEALTH EDUCATOR I
The Barren River District Health Department is accepting applications for a full-time Health Educator I to be based in Warren County.
The minimum requirements are a bachelor’s degree and one year of health related or education experience. A master’s degree or bachelor’s degree or a professional license in the health or human services fields will substitute for one year of experience required. Preference will be given to applicants with a bachelor’s or master’s degree in Public Health Education, Exercise Science or Kinesiology. Preference will also be given to applicants that are bilingual.
The minimum hourly rate is $12.15 with excellent benefits.
Duties will include teaching school curriculum, providing Go 365 Screenings, teaching CPR/First Aid, testing and counseling for HIV, facilitating tobacco cessation courses, facilitating the Healthy Safe Aging Coalition, leading physical activity classes, and working with community partners to address issues around senior adults. Other duties as assigned.
Travel will be required to other counties as needed after training is complete. Applicants must have reliable transportation and a valid driver's license.
The successful applicant will be required to pass a pre-employment drug test and background check.
