Governor Martinez – Help Ensure that all New Mexicans have Affordable Coverage Options. Study a Basic Health Program for New Mexico!

We’re hearing it already from consumers and enrollers alike -- New Mexicans finding themselves unable to afford coverage on the Exchange. Families are making too much to receive Medicaid but cannot find a plan on the Exchange that meets their budget.

New Mexico has the opportunity to study a possible solution – a Basic Health Program that would provide affordable coverage for New Mexico. The program could cost the state next to nothing because most of it is paid by federal subsidies.

The budget bill in front of Governor Martinez includes $50,000 dollars to study a Basic Health Program option for New Mexico. Last year this same money was line-item vetoed; let’s make sure that doesn’t happen again.

Please take a minute to call Governor Martinez today at (505) 476-2200 and urge her to preserve funding to study a Basic Health Program for New Mexico. Ask her not to veto our best chance for affordable coverage.

When you call, the Governor’s secretary will take a brief message of 1-2 sentences. Be ready to provide your name, phone number, and county of residence.
