Save the Seals on the Seacoast!

The Seacoast Science Center leads New Hampshire's marine mammal rescue effort. The Center's Marine Mammal Rescue Team responds to all stranded, injured and diseased seals, whales, porpoises, and dolphins in NH's coastal region. All marine mammals are protected by the Marine Mammal Protection Act, enacted by the federal government on October 21, 1972. Fulfilling this requirement, the Center's Marine Mammal Rescue Team staffs a 24/7 hotline (603-997-9448) and deploys first responders.

The seals don't pay, so we rely heavily on community contributions to support the response, rescue and education for this program. It is important for our Team to respond to every caller’s report of a marine mammal, live or dead, to protect the public's health and safety by properly managing sick or dead animals. Your fundraising efforts will help keep our Team ready to respond.

To jumpstart our fundraising for this program, Cy and Bobbie Sweet have offered a challenge match. For every dollar raised, they will match it up to $20,000 a year. Every dollar you raise will go twice as far to ensure that we have the the supplies needed to respond to every marine animal in NH.
