COMPASS Transition Program
The intent of COMPASS is to teach wounded military personnel a universal problem solving methodology in order to help them successfully transition forward into a new professional occupation. The instruction provided throughout the 5 days of COMPASS is presented by industry professionals, university professors, former military personnel, and guest speakers. The program of instruction is a building block training program focused around some simple yet applicable specified tasks.
Specified Task A: The participants are taught how to organize their network around 4 support elements; professional, emotional, physical and spiritual. The value and practical application of networking is reinforced throughout the week via industry professionals and guest speakers.
Specified Task B: The participants are taught a universal problem solving / decision making methodology which helps the participant identify obstacles and the support mechanisms to overcome these obstacles in order for them to achieve short and long term goals. Each day throughout the week the participants will work one on one with mentors on developing their own life goals and a road map to accomplish each goal.
Participants will leave the COMPASS knowing there are people who truly care about them and they will have a renewed sense of self confidence as they transition forward. |
