ASHNHA’s Political Action Committee (PAC) needs your support in order to contribute to candidates that will work to support a strong healthcare system in Alaska. While there are no active campaigns in 2017, we must be ready to support candidates in 2018. In the past, the ASHNHA PAC has almost exclusively relied on raising funds from an auction at our annual meeting. This year, to make it easier for you, and to ensure more of your money goes directly to the cause, we are asking members to make a contribution rather than request items for an auction. PAC supporters will be recognized with name badge ribbons and on a rotating display during our annual meeting.

ASHNHA, through its PAC, has a tradition of supporting candidates for public office. The PAC provides the opportunity for members/administration to dialogue with candidates about the importance of the delivery of healthcare services by our members. Because the PAC falls under the jurisdiction of the Alaska Public Offices Commission, certain rules apply. Here is a summary of these rules.

• Donations to the PAC may not exceed $500 per year from an individual.
• Corporate donations are NOT allowed.
• Checks (non-corporate) and credit cards (non-corporate) are accepted by the PAC.
• The ASHNHA PAC does not accept cash.
