December 6, 2016 - Wilderness Survival. Emergencies can occur at any time; this class will help students think clearly in a crisis. We will go over shelters, fire craft, water treatment, first aid, and put together personal survival kits. The human body has predictable reactions to different trauma; to understand these, we will go over survival statistics and study psychological responses to stress. Please dress to be outside and bring plenty of water. Please bring a bag lunch, as well.

Audubon Society of Western Pennsylvania is pleased to announce a series of classes at Succop Nature Park designed for homeschooled students. These classes run from 10am-1pm with a mid-point lunch break. Families are free to sign up for scheduled classes. ASWP recognizes the value and flexibility of homeschooling; this class series seeks to inspire and challenge this dynamic population. Many of the classes can be expanded to multiple sessions if requested. These classes are for K-12 with mixed grade levels welcome. The cost is $10 per student. Parents are welcome to stay free of charge (please register using the "Parent" ticket) or they may drop off their student.
