Science and History of Maple Sugar - (Online)

Ever wonder how maple syrup goes from a tree to your pancakes? This program will explore how people learned to get sugar from trees. We will begin with Native American techniques and continue to the latest maple sugar extraction technologies and why Western PA is such a good place for maple sugaring. You will be able to identify local maple species and understand the science of how/why these trees make sugar. Free. Registration is strongly encouraged so that you can be notified about any changes to the program.
