About this Session: Whether you are celebrating your first year of operation or your 100th, milestone anniversaries offer an opportunity to promote your mission and your impact. This is a time to highlight a new program, special accomplishment or unique partnership. This workshop will provide examples of successful anniversary strategies and give hands-on experience in crafting a plan for your next institutional birthday using a variety of media and activities.

About the Presenters: Elizabeth Dunlop Richter is president of The Richter Group, a strategic communications consulting practice with expertise in marketing, branding, messaging, communications strategy, and video production. Her clients include Chicago Child Care Society, Chicago Commons, Chicago Public Radio, Peggy Notebaert Nature Museum, and Prevent Child Abuse America. Previous positions include vice president of marketing and communications for The Chicago Community Trust and director of theater at American Girl Place. Previously, Ms. Richter held a series of management positions at public television station WTTW, including vice president of production and vice president of national development. She launched the Emmy award-winning magazine series Wild Chicago, the nightly news analysis program Chicago Tonight and executive produced several national PBS series. Before joining WTTW, Ms. Richter was news producer and executive producer at WLS-TV, where she recruited Oprah Winfrey to host AM Chicago. She received nine personal Emmy nominations and won a Chicago Emmy for her work as producer of Eyewitness Chicago. Ms. Richter's professional and community board service includes The Economic Club of Chicago, The Chicago Network, Chicago Wellesley Club, Green City Market, and TimeLine Theatre, and the advisory council of the Graham School at the University of Chicago.
