Description

Tuesday, April 2, 2024

10am - 11:30am CST Zoom

Workshop: $50

About this Session:  It’s time to break free from the biggest stereotype holding back the nonprofit world – that only extroverts can be successful fundraisers. Join Brian Saber for this 60-minute interactive webinar to learn all the powerful attributes introverts bring to fundraising, not only in major and planned gifts but in special events and across all fundraising. At the end of the webinar, introverted fundraisers will be validated and empowered to use their tools, and managers of introverts will understand how to harness the power of everyone in their organization.  Additionally, Brian will cover board dynamics, the key roles introverted board members play, how to ensure you’re fully engaging introverted board members and the dynamics of introverted donors.

Learning Objectives:
1. How to use your strengths as an introverted fundraiser to build important relationships
2. How introverts and special events can actually go together
3. How to work with other fundraisers to maximize an introvert’s work
4. How to manage introverts to fully value what they bring to the table
5. How to empower introverted board members and build your strongest board
6. How to engage introvert donors

About the Presenter:  Brian Saber, President,

Brian Saber is one of the field’s preeminent experts on the art and science of asking for charitable gifts face-to-face, and he has been working with nonprofit organizations for more than 38 years to help unlock their fundraising potential. Brian has personally solicited thousands of donors as a director of development, executive director, board member/chair, and consultant.

In 2008, Brian co-founded Asking Matters, the most comprehensive online resource on asking in the field. Asking Matters is home to the Asking Styles, a revolutionary concept in the field that helps people understand and embrace their unique strengths as fundraisers. Asking Matters offers courses, webinars, and other virtual and in-person training opportunities. It also hosts the popular Fundraising Masters series.

Brian has led training programs and presented at conferences for the Arthritis Foundation, Prevent Child Abuse America, the Archdiocese of Los Angeles, the Environmental Defense Fund, Social Venture Partners International, National Public Radio, Volunteers of America, the U.S. Olympic Committee, The Salvation Army, Boys and Girls Clubs of America, AFP International, numerous AFP chapters, the North American YMCA Development Conference, and others.

Brian is the author of four books: Asking Styles: Revolutionize Your Fundraising, hailed by the late Jerry Panas as “the best antidote I’ve read on taking the fear out of asking,” Boards and Asking Styles: A Roadmap to Success, Engaged Boards Will Fundraise: How Good Governance Inspires Them, and his latest, Fundraising for Introverts: Harnessing Our Power for What Matters.
