About this Session: This interactive workshop will cover the basics of developing a winning grant proposal and meaningful program goals and objectives. Participants will learn the standard components of a grant proposal and discover common pitfalls in proposal writing and how to avoid them. We will explore the different types of grant opportunities and you will walk away with resources that will help in asking for and securing foundation grants.

Who Should Participate: Anyone responsible for writing grant proposals, including fundraising and program staff, executive directors and volunteers

Dhyia ThompsonAbout the Presenter: Dhyia Thompson, M.Ed. is Principal of Virgo Consulting. Dhyia’s background includes professional experience in both the corporate and nonprofit environments utilizing her project management and organizational assessment skills. She specializes in strategic planning, process improvement, and issue analysis. Prior to starting her own consulting practice, Dhyia worked as a corporate consultant in the higher education and healthcare fields, specializing in research administration. She’s worked at Research 1 division research shops on projects ranging from re-organizations to financial research portfolio reviews for clients such as Harvard University and Cleveland Clinic. Dhyia holds a Master of Education from Loyola University Chicago and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science from the University of Illinois Champaign-Urbana.
