About this Session: Your organization is growing and needs more space, but how do you find the right place? In this interactive session, discover how to strategically grow from small (your organization’s first dedicated space) to mid-sized (a space you control) to large (spaces with specialized needs such as medical clinics or performance spaces). Learn about the three types of spaces available – office, industrial and retail – and tips to determine which space will best fit your organization’s needs. We will also address the pros and cons of shared, leased and owned space as well as budgeting basics for real estate occupancy costs.

About the Presenter: Barbara Ellis-Racic is Senior Vice President at Corporate Real Estate Solutions. Barbara specializes in advising nonprofits on finding the right space, in the right place, at the right price. She has over 25 years of experience in representing tenants and owner/users in the acquisition and disposition of office, industrial and retail space. Barbara has worked for cultural institutions including the Chicago Symphony Orchestra and the Joel Hall Dance Center, advocacy organizations including the Chicago Association Against Sexual Exploitation and Hispanic Alliance for Career Enhancement (HACE), civic organizations, including the Chicago Olympic Committee, not for profit healthcare entities, including National Jewish Health, professional associations, including National Association of Personal Financial Advisors and the American Institute of Steel Construction, and has a strong medical and dental subspecialty.
