About this Session: Swimming in data, but confused about how it can make more sense? Wondering how to make metrics work with your organization’s strategy and operations? This workshop will help you find ways to synthesize the endless data and metrics available to you. We will cover shaping the processes and focus of your organization’s data collection; refining your metrics to align with your strategy and organizational learning goals; and developing easy to use tools for monitoring metrics both internally and externally.

Laura ZumdahlAbout the Presenter: Laura Zumdahl, PhD is the President and Chief Executive Officer of New Moms, Inc., a nonprofit serving homeless and at-risk adolescent parents and their children in Chicago. New Moms’ comprehensive two-generation model provides supportive housing, early childhood services, and a workforce development program for adolescent parents. Prior to New Moms, Laura was Vice President, Nonprofit Services at Donors Forum, the association for grantmakers, nonprofits, and advisors in Illinois, where she led Donors Forum's capacity-building efforts to strengthen nonprofits in the sector and cross-sector collaboration work. Laura has also served in a variety of leadership roles in the nonprofit sector in legal aid, higher education, and child welfare. She was named a 2010 Emerging Nonprofit Leadership Fellow by the Chicago Community Trust and given a 40 Under 40 Award by the Association Forum of Chicagoland in 2013. Laura earned a BA in Sociology from Trinity Christian College; an MA in Social Work from the University of Chicago, School of Social Service Administration; and a PhD in Leadership from Cardinal Stritch University in Milwaukee.
