What is Bead Challenge?

Each Bead Challenge Event will be hosted by a supporting glass studio with 2 major goals in mind: 1. make one-of-a-kind glass beads that we need to sustain the Beads of Courage program in more than 150 participating children’s hospitals; and 2. raise funds to support the mission of Beads of Courage, Inc. (a 501(c)3 tax-exempt organization).

We are passionate about giving children and their families coping with serious illness the ability to RECORD, TELL and OWN their story of COURAGE. Bead Challenge is an exclusive Beads of Courage Bead Making and Fundraising Event created to bring the incredible artists together that support Beads of Courage and the Beads of Courage Members who live in that community.

On September 15, 2012, National Beads of Courage Bead Challenge Day, children who are members of Beads of Courage can attend and request their Dream Bead. “If I could have any bead in the world, it would be an octopus wrapped around a pencil (true story!), a frog, a princess, or a rainbow.” It’s a day to honor their courage in a setting outside the hospital where Beads of Courage Members and their families can come and learn about the art of glass bead making. It’s also a day where the community is invited to come and see what happens inside a glass studio and learn more about the mission of Beads of Courage.

I'm an artist and would like to participate, but I don't live near one of the 2012 Host Studios, can I help?
Yes!! we have an Artist "from a distance" option, you can learn more about it by click on THIS LINK to download an information page that includes links to each studio, just click on the City/State for more information.
