November 2014 Paddle: Sturgeon Creek to Davis Creek

Join us on the last paddle of the season. We will be paddling from Sturgeon Creek to Davis Creek, a new route! This 5 mile paddle should run with the tides making it a fairly easy paddle. This is a weather dependent paddle and in the event that there are strong winds, which would make this a very difficult paddle, we will cancel. Please dress accordingly for November and check your email frequently near the paddle date.

We will meet at the CFRW Office at 8:45 am. After the shuttle (click here for shuttle map route) is complete we will put in at Sturgeon Creek and paddle down to where the Brunswick River meets with Sturgeon Creek. For a map to the put in from the CFRW Office click here! We will then head up to the Cape Fear and on to Davis Creek. We will take out at Davis Creek.

All paddlers should wear a PFD, however those paddlers using CFRW boats are required to wear a PFD.  Other items to remember include sunscreen, hat, sunglasses, water, snack and water shoes and warm clothes. You are welcome to bring your own kayak and supplies. If you need to rent a boat they are just $15 for the day if you are a CFRW Member. If you would like to rent a boat please contact Kemp at kemp@cfrw.us or call 910-762-5606.  Your boat reservation is not confirmed until you have heard from Kemp. Make sure you bring cash or check the day of the paddle!
