March 2015 Paddle - Black River

Join us to kick off the 2015 paddle season on March 21^st! We’re headed to the Black River! We will meet at the CFRW Office (617 Surry St.) at 8:45 am and depart for the put in promptly at 9am. We will then travel to the put in at Hunt's Bluff and paddle a beautiful, mostly wild stretch of the Black River. Enjoy lush cypress swamps and catch a glimpse of the wildlife in action. After an easy 4-5 mile paddle we will take out near Point Caswell on Estate Road. 

You are welcome to bring your own kayak and supplies. If you need to rent a boat they are just $15 for the day if you are a CFRW Member. All paddlers should wear a PFD, however those paddlers using CFRW boats are required to wear a PFD.  Other items to remember include sunscreen, hat, sunglasses, water, snack and water shoes and warm clothes. If you would like to rent a boat please contact Kemp at kemp@cfrw.us or call 910-762-5606.  Your boat reservation is not confirmed until you have heard from Kemp. Make sure you bring cash or check the day of the paddle!
