July 2016 Paddle - Sawpit Landing (We are OUT of rental boats for this trip!)

**We are out of rental boats, you are welcome to join us if you have your own boat.*

Join the CFRW paddlers as we explore the Northeast Cape Fear River between Sawpit Landing (off White Stocking Road) and the Shaw Highway Wildlife ramp. This is a great section of river with a textbook example of an oxbow lake, several nice coves, and a few creeks to poke our heads into. The trip is 5-6 miles depending on how much exploring you do (and how straight you can paddle). 

We will meet at the CFRW headquarters at 617 Surry Street, Wilmington, NC 28401 at 7:30am. We will caravan from CFRW to the put-in at White Stocking Road and unload all the boats. We will then take the vehicles to the take-out on Shaw Highway and shuttle folks back to start the trip. We should be paddling by 10:00am and back in Wilmington around 2pm at the latest. If you want to eat at the famous Holland's Fish Camp you'll need to add an hour or so for that.

We are currently out of rental boats, they are all taken! If you have your own boat you are welcome to join us. 

Bring a PFD (unless you use a CFRW boat and then we will bring one for you), appropriate clothes, water, a camera, and whatever else you like to have with you on the water. Feel free to also bring a bag lunch to eat but keep in mind that Holland's is always a favorite part of the trip.
