Overview:

The worlds of clinical and biomedical engineering have two things in common: medical devices and innovation. Activities involving research and development to improve healthcare, whether it be done in the private sector or in institutions like colleges, universities, and hospitals; occasionally leads to ideas, processes, or prototypes. These may provide opportunities for commercialization and other benefits for organizations and/or individuals and therefore warrant protection prior to disclosure. Otherwise, there is a risk of losing financial benefit or deserved credit for the achievement. This webinar will provide practical guidelines on how you can use different types of Intellectual Property rights to protect your technology. Patent Agent (and CMBES member) Tony Orsi will discuss IP protection for Med-Tech and will provide examples of protection efforts based on experience with past clients. If you or your group have been involved in these kinds of activities (or plan to), this session is for you.
