Music education instills confidence, discipline, self-expression, creativity, maturity and commitment in our youth—qualities that will guide them and shape their future no matter what path they take. CMC makes the difference Parents agree: as a result of attending music classes at the Community Music Center, children - participate more in their families and in the community, - improve academically, - exhibit better listening skills & increased attention spans, - show more self-confidence Your help is needed $75 produces a class recital. $150 pays for instrument rental for a student over the school year. $250 provides music skills class for a student, where composition basics, music history, ear training and rhythm skills are taught. $350 pays for a year of piano, voice, or guitar classes for a student. $500 – $1,000 gives private lessons to a young string player for a year.
- CMC Parent How donated funds are used Your gift helps CMC: -teach nearly 1,000 youth and adults per week through affordable classes and lessons, -employ over 50 highly-trained instructors who are active professional performers in our community’s premier music ensembles and veteran music educators in our area schools, -give instruction in string instrument lessons and classes, music skills, voice, piano and guitar, as well as early childhood music classes, chamber music, orchestra & choirs, - provide a generous need-based scholarship assistance program, -maintain a library of books, records, sheet music, fine pianos and harpsichords, and low-cost rental string instruments, -offer hundreds of concerts a year for free or for low admission prices, - thrive into its sixth decade of operations.
