Featuring  XX Digitus Duo - pianists Momoko Muramatsu and Maria Garcia have enjoyed individual careers that have taken them to over a dozen countries, performing in a variety of formats at the Aspen, Tanglewood, Casals and Bergen festivals and with groups such as the Mark Morris Dance Company amongst many others. Now based in Portland, they join forces to perform the piano duo repertoire. In addition to presenting major works for four-hand piano, they explore the vast repertoire of their shared Latin American musical heritage, and are deeply committed to commissioning new works for the medium. Devoted teachers, their educational performances featuring transcriptions of ballet repertoire at the Old Church and for the Community Music Center have been enthusiastically received. In addition to impromptu performances at night clubs and bars throughout the city, their initial Portland appearances as a duo have included a live broadcast recital for All Classical Radio Thursdays at Three, an outdoor concert at Director's Park,  world premiere performances of commissions by Charles Copeland (Cascadia Composers January Jubiliation Concert) and Ken Selden, and a "Debut" Recital at the Historic Old Church. Their first recording featuring music of Ravel, Barber and Gershwin, is now available on their website.
