About the performersIrish fiddler Bronnie Griffin will perform with Preston Howard on the Uillean pipes*, while Maldon Meehan demonstrates lively and graceful traditional Irish percussive dance. Maldon will also invite children on stage to participate in the dancing. Bronnie Griffin is a contemporary fiddler steeped in the rich Irish tradition. A prize-winning student of the legendary Kevin Burke, Bronnie Griffin brings a strong bow, melodic lift, and sheer joy to the world of traditional music.  Preston Howard started seriously studying the Uilleann pipes* about 10 years ago. He plays primarily as a musician around the Pacific Northwest, playing at pubs, music festivals, ceili, weddings, as well as with the group The Stomptowners. Maldon Meehan is a performer, teacher and choreographer of Irish sean-nós and set dance, as well as the founding member of Sean-nós Northwest, a non-profit organization dedicated to presenting dance, song and language in the Pacific Northwest.

*Uilleann pipes are the characteristic national bagpipe of Ireland. Earlier known in English as "union pipes", their current name is a partial translation of the Irish-language term píobaí uilleann (literally, "pipes of the elbow"), from their method of inflation.
