Florist’s estate grows music at CMC

05/24/2011

A gift of $20,000 from the estate of Jack Malcom, long-time Gresham florist, will help refresh CMC’s supply of instruments and educational equipment.  CMC is one of over a half-dozen local charities in the East Portland Metro area to become beneficiary of part of over $1 million in gifts and bequests.  Bob Dye, the Malcom Trust’s Executor, will present the donation to the non-profit CMC Inc. at our annual meeting on June 4th at 1:30 pm.

We hope to use a large part of the donation to replenish our aging digital pianos, which get used most hours of the week by nearly a hundred students from age 6 to 86.  The gift will augment an earlier donation of $1,000 from the Wintz Foundation, also supporting the piano program.
