ICA News Update
The Council on Chiropractic Education (CCE) is proposing NEW Standards for all accredited chiropractic institutions to follow. We would like you to go directly to their website and submit your comments requesting more specific chiropractic and subluxation language.
1. Review the process by which comments are to be submitted.
2. Make your comments. The ICA recommends that you:
Tell the CCE that you support the removal, as has been proposed by CCE in the new version of the Standards, of the "Preface" (on page 11 of the current Standards) and the references to "unnecessary drugs and surgery, primary care and primary care chiropractic physicians" contained in that section.
And,
The term 'subluxation' and 'adjustment' should be clarified in the new Standards as follows:
1. Page 22 ...paragraph C, the term "and" should be inserted between subluxation and segmental dysfunction, instead of the '/'.
2. Page 27, the term subluxation should be added to the lead sentence of Metacompetency 7 so as to read: Doctors of chiropractic employ the adjustment/manipulation to address subluxations, joint and neurophysiologic dysfunction.
3. Page 27 and in all other places in the document where they appear, the terms adjustment/manipulation must be separated by the term "and" as they are distinctly different procedures.
Small changes in terminology can have profound effects on the meaning and concepts of both chiropractic and subluxation. The ICA was founded to protect and preserve the basic tenets and concepts of true chiropractic. That's why we are here. Thanks to all who will take the time to contribute.

Parents all over the country rejoice this time of year as their children go back to school. The laid back days of summer are gone and now formal schedules including proper bedtime have to be maintained! In my family, we enjoy this transition of bringing organization back into our daily life.
