Description

June 25-29

Edible and medicinal plants flourish all around us. In this hands-on camp, youth explore common wild plants including native berries, edible greens, useful weeds, wetlands plants and trees. Campers will build plant identification skills, harvest, cook, make medicine, do artwork, and make cordage and cattail mats. Plant stories will be woven throughout the week. On one of the days, we will take a field trip to East Bay Public Plaza to explore the wetlands and stream. Let’s grow our next generation of naturalists!

Camp runs Monday-Friday, June 25-29, 9AM-3PM.  Campers may be dropped off beginning at 8:40 and can be picked up until 3:20 at no extra charge.

GRuB camps offer an intimate, nourishing environment for children to engage in gardening, cooking, crafting, and community-building.  Our camps have a maximum of 15 children, and staff-child ratios are 1-7 or better.  While our costs for staffing, food and supplies are higher than at some camps, we do our best to make camp affordable for everyone.  Please choose your level of financial support from the options below.  If all these options are unaffordable for you, please fill out a financial aid form here, and we will contact you about scholarships. After registering, please fill out this enrollment form so we have the information we need to keep your child safe and healthy.
