A Multi-Media Performance Art Class for Teens (CANCELED)

Move. Voice. Power.Through dance, theater, writing, and improvisation we will unleash our creativity and bring OUR stories to life. In an energetic and fun environment where youth voices are heard and respected, we will dive into the important topics of our hearts, minds, and society as a whole. With this material we will create original performance art pieces that express our visions. This class welcomes youth of all genders, abilities, learning styles and artistic experience levels.

Lily Hughes is a co-founder of the Philadelphia based BARETEETH Dance Collective and the SWARM Performance Band. As an educator, Lily makes dance and movement an accessible and healing practice for people of all ages, abilities, learning styles, and experience levels. Through a supportive, playful and adaptable approach to teaching, Lily inspires her students to let loose and re-connect with their bodies. Throughout her life, Lily has studied modern dance, hip-hop, ballet, jazz, contact improvisation, somatics, theater and performance art. Her training took place at the Bennington College July Program, Hampshire College, the Headlong Performance Institute, and the Bread & Puppet Theater. Currently, Lily is pursuing her Masters in Dance Movement Therapy and Counseling at Antioch University.
