Guitarist, writer, and actor John Sheldon returns from his hit run of The Red Guitar at the Hall in 2015 with his new play about this beautiful earth all around us and his journey to the center of it all.

After last fall’s successful run of The Red Guitar, his musical monologue of the history of rock and roll as he lived it from being Van Morrison’s lead guitarist at 17 to writing songs for James Taylor, My Journey to the Center of the Earth continues the tale.

Using music, sound, and storytelling, John takes the listener on a journey through the elemental forces of life, from the molten center of our earth, through the atmosphere, into space and back, stopping off to visit with spirits of wolf, deer, and a bird made out of music. Drawing on familiar styles of guitar, from folk, to classical, to blues, to Jimi Hendrix, and layering these sounds together in real-time with voices, John creates a world of music and feeling that is completely unique.
