A Kaleidoscope of Pieces

Chopin, Debussy, Harbison, Hyla, Mozart, Scarlatti.
Explore the shared dynamism of piano music from the 17th century to the current day. Judith Gordon, who is on the faculty at Smith College and a consulting director and frequent performer at Music from Salem, will introduce and play works by Scarlatti, Mozart, Chopin and Debussy, as well as John Harbison and Lee Hyla, composers whose music she has premiered and with whom she has often collaborated. Join this informal expedition into the ways that these very different-sounding pieces talk to each other, and to listeners.
Concert will take place at 8:00pm at Hubbard Hall Mainstage in Cambridge, NY. Admission is pay what you can, so everyone can attend! ($20 suggested). Advance tickets can be purchased for $20 at www.hubbardhall.org or 518-677-2495. Program subject to change.
