Written over the course of only 6 weeks in 1832, this romantic comedy remains one of the most-performed operas to this day, due in no small part to highly relatable characters and the ever-relevant theme of falling in love. Willing to try anything to win the affection of the self-motivated and fiercely independent Adina, Nemorino, the young admirer spends a fortune on a “love potion” sold by Dulcamara, a traveling charlatan who capitalizes on the desperate and naive. Will Adina choose Nemorino, the local villager with nothing to offer but his affections, or Belcore, the confident and cocky military sergeant who is quick to propose and leads a life of adventure? And what of Dulcamara and his potions?

Sung in Italian with English supertitles, this charismatic classic will make you smile and celebrate the awkward joy of falling in love.
