JOHN OHARA GOLF TOURNAMENT is a certified 501(c)(3) charity organization founded in 2015 dedicated to the life of John O’Hara. Its sole purpose is raising money towards research to defeat Kidney Cancer, the disease that took John’s life. Kidney Cancer is among the 10 most common cancers in both men and women. For reasons that are not totally clear, the rate of new kidney cancers have been rising since the 1990s. In 2015, about 61,500 new cases of Kidney Cancer will occur.

John O’Hara will forever be remembered for his great sense of humor, his quick wit, and his welcoming arms - to know him was to call him a friend. He was an inspiration to all who knew him. His never-ending strength and bravery shined through as he welcomed every day with his larger than life smile. He leaves behind a trail of positivity that will remain as an example for all those he touched. A true “New Yorker,” John made his mark through various business ventures and community organizations all the while keeping his large family the true priority of his life.
