Status:  Full-time Merit Employee Location: Lincoln Trail District Health Department, Central Office 

Classification: Grade: Information Manager  21                                                                                                                     

Starting Pay Rate: $23.08 per hour, can be adjusted based on experience

Reports to: Public Health Director 

Primary duties include, but are not limited to:

• Provides consultation, assistance and assesses agency needs and plans for the use, selection and purchase of computer and communication hardware and software. 

• Responsible for administering district/agency computer network. 

• Works with agency departments to assist with troubleshooting and implementation of new computer applications and upgrades. 

• Maintains the integrity of the network and responds and answers questions from users. Responsible for maintaining network in proper order. 

• Responsible for planning and implementing a system backup and recovery program. 

• Trains health department staff on use of computer and communication system hardware and software. Maintains internet access.

• Reviews technical literature and attends meetings and training opportunities. 

• Remains current with scientific, educational and medical developments related to information systems technology and the use of that technology. Provides consultation and assistance for maintaining all PC hardware and computer systems. May supervise.

• Meets deadlines when they exist.

• Promote harmonious working relationships.

• Participate in committees

• Employee is required to report to duty during Public Health emergencies/disasters.

 Qualifications:

• Customer service oriented.

• Maintain confidentiality as per Lincoln Trail District Health Department Confidentiality Agreement.

• Ability to work as a team member in a team atmosphere.

• Ability to perform statistical tests, analyze and present results.

• Ability to use advanced computer and communication software.  

• Assume responsibility for professional development.

• Provide proof of a valid driver’s license and current automobile insurance.

• Dependable and Prompt Attendance is a requirement.
 
 Education: Graduate of an accredited college or university with a Bachelor’s Degree.

 Experience: Must have three (3) years responsible experience in a multi-user operating system with one (1) year of supervising staff in the IT department.

Substitution for Education: An Associate Degree in IT, Network Technology or Programming and two (2) years of experience providing technical assistance related to network equipment or software may substitute for the education requirement. A bachelor’s degree in computer science will substitute for one year of the experience requirement.
 

Experience: Related technical or vocational training/experience will substitute for the educational degree requirement on a yearfor-year basis.
