LOCAL HEALTH NURSE I - SCHOOL NURSE

The Barren River District Health Department is accepting applications for a Partial Year Appointment Local Health Nurse I position.

This position will be based in Warren County and will work in the Bowling Green City School System.

The minimum requirement is an Associate degree or diploma in nursing from an accredited college, university, or school of nursing. Must have RN license in Kentucky or compact state or provisional license in Kentucky, meeting all requirements of KRS 314.041 and approval to practice as Registered Nurse Applicant (RNA). Applicants need to be highly motivated, independently thinking nursing professionals. Preference will be given to applicants that are bilingual.

Duties include working independently as a school nurse in a clinic setting in the Bowling Green City School System. The applicant will be working with students providing daily services to promote health and wellness, immunizations, well child physicals, medications, first aid, and clinic support for sick children. Other duties as assigned.

Applicant must have reliable transportation and a valid driver’s license.

Applicants will be screened then interviewed. Hourly wage is $15.51 with excellent benefits. The successful applicant will be required to pass a pre-employment drug test and background check.
