In Her Own Words

Because of poverty and many members in the family, my father cannot afford to keep every child in school when the family cannot even have enough to eat. My father doesn’t have any other work to do besides farming. There are only two children, my younger brother and me, in the family who are still studying. The rest had to drop out when my elder sister got sick and we had a hard time then.  I was about to drop out too but luckily I heard about the GATE scholarship opportunity for poor and vulnerable girls with CWCC. I felt so excited and very happy knowing that I stood a chance to get the scholarship and would be able to continue to stay in school. After going through the selection process: application, interview, and social investigation at my home, I was selected into the program.  I had always hoped that I would pass High School National Board Exam in the academic year 2009-2010 and finally I did make it and even got 100% scholarship (tuition only) to do Bachelor’s Degree at Meanchey University in Banteay Meanchey Province!

I am very lucky that LO continues to support my education throughout these 4 years. I am determined to study hard until I finish university. I would like to take this opportunity to sincerely thank the donor for the continuing support.
