A Night for Tomorrow 2013

06/08/2013 06:30 PM - 10:30 PM ET

Description

Lotus Outreach Society Canada is pleased to invite you to our 2013 Fundraising Dinner on June 8th, to be held at the University Golf Club on the University of British Columbia campus.

For twenty years, the organization has worked to improve the education, health and safety of vulnerable young women and children in Cambodia and India. Today, we have many programs ranging from supporting young women through high school and university, to working in partnership with local non-government organizations to help women in crisis, to helping those at risk for sexual trafficking. Our programs are made possible by generous supporters, highly dedicated volunteers, and the tireless partners we work with in the field.

We are delighted that our founder, Mr. Khyentse Norbu, also an eminent Buddhist teacher and scholar, will be present at this year’s event. We are also very pleased to have Chantol Oung, the founder of the Cambodian Women’s Crisis Center, one of our partner organizations, to tell her personal story.  She is a winner of the Ramon Magsaysay Award for emergent leadership, often referred to as Asia’s Nobel Prize.

The evening will also include a musical performance, silent and live auctions, and will end with dancing.  Our goal is to raise $100,000 this year. We depend on your support to reach this target.

Tickets are $175 each with $75 tax deductible. Space is limited, and we expect to sell out as we have done in previous years. Kindly contact Ms. Man Han Ng at mhn888@shaw.ca to request tickets, or send cheques payable to Lotus Outreach Society Canada, c/o Ms. Man Han Ng, 21-8111 Francis Road, Richmond, B.C.
