On October 12, 2008 Lotus Outreach International will participate in the San Diego-based Girls Think Tank’s Second Annual Community Picnic.

Girls Think Tank (GTT) is grassroots organization of women and men providing a forum for community, collaboration, creativity and hands-on public service.  GTT was founded in 2006 as a medium for discussing and implementing solutions to homelessness in San Diego County.  Since then, GTT has expanded the scope of its work to include mentorship programs, literacy campaigns and human trafficking advocacy.

Human trafficking is both a local and a global problem.  Lotus Outreach will set up an informational booth at the picnic to help put an international face on human trafficking and the problems presented by poverty.  We encourage you to join us for this community event and be a voice for social justice—both here at home and across the globe.

The Second Annual Community Picnic will take place on Sunday, October 12th at Balboa Park (near 6th and Laurel) from 12:00-4:00 PM.  A minimum donation of $10 will provide lunch for you and a homeless person.  For more information, please contact erika@lotusoutreach.org or visit www.girlsthinktank.org.
