Machik Children's Health Fund

for Life-threatening Illnesses

Why the Machik Children's Health Fund?

We are launching the Fund to support Gonpo, and in the future, other children like him whose families cannot afford the medical care for life-threatening illnesses. Families in Tibet today face extraordinary challenges in accessing quality and affordable healthcare. By supporting the Machik Children's Health Fund, you will help individual Tibetan children and youth who urgently require life-saving medical treatment.

Gonpo's Story

Gonpo Tsering, 17, is a young Tibetan at the Chungba Middle School recently diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukemia and diabetes. He has been hospitalized for several weeks and is in critical condition. His family, who are semi-nomadic farmers, and their friends have already exhausted their resources caring for Gonpo.

Gonpo's Chungba classmates immediately started fundraising for their friend at his time of greatest need. Machik volunteers from Tibet, China and the US are also building support through social media and a postcard campaign. So far, $20,000 USD has been raised but Gonpo needs an additional $30,000 for life-saving treatment.

Your help is urgently needed. Please DONATE $10 or more to the Machik Children's Health Fund to give the gift of hope to Gonpo and his family.
