Farmer in Training: Session 3 Full Day

Explore the entirety of the farm from the chickens to the orchard, the fields to the greenhouses. Delicious farm inspired snacks provided daily. In the full day version of our Farmer in Training program, delve deeper into farm life and broaden your skills and understanding of what it means to be a farmer in 2018. Spend more time in the field planting, weeding and harvesting, play games and cook up some tasty delights in our Barn kitchen. Mornings are described as above while in the afternoons we will welcome a local chef, local artist, or other artisans as we learn new skills that are founded in nature and celebrate the beauty and bounty of the farm.

Session 3:  Without enough water plants will not grow so where does the farm get its water? What happens if there is a drought? Explore unique growing strategies such as hydroponics, design and make your own terrarium, conduct scientific field experiments and map out the journey of this natural resource both on the farm and in the wider community. Bring lunch each day.
