Blooms & Buds: Sustainable Floral Design Workshop

Build your own bouquet from a fresh local flower and greens bar, while learning sustainable floral design tips from the brilliant Susie Margolin (Lotus & Lettuce). Light refreshments will be provided.

About Susie:

Susie Margolin is a life-long gardener and entrepreneur who launched the sustainable floral design business Lotus & Lettuce as a response to climate change. Susie’s designs feature organic blooms that she grows from seed in her Auburndale gardens, arranged in vintage vessels for sustainable beauty. Her “floral sculptures” incorporate bold colors, unusual textures and shapes, as well as vegetables and foraged natural elements. Her goal as designer and instructor is to promote creativity, sustainability, and community through “seed to vase” floral design.

Covid Protocols

Newton Community Farm follows MA and City of Newton protocols to keep our staff, students, volunteers, and the communtity as safe as possible. 

• Masks are optional while at the Farm except for those in days 6-10 after a positive test who must wear masks. Please do not visit the Farm if you have tested positive for Covid within the past 5 days, been told to quarantine or isolate by a health professional, or if you feel unwell. 

Parking

This class takes place in-person at Newton Community Farm, 303 Nahanton Street, Newton, MA 02459. Please park on Winchester Street (near the red farm stand) and walk down the lane past the chickens to the big red barn. Depending on the weather, this class may be in the barn or outside. Please do NOT park in the farm driveway as we have farm vehicles coming and going.

Registrations for this class are nonrefundable. 

Newton Community Farm reserves the right to cancel and/or reschedule a program if necessary.
