Farmer in Training: Full Day Session 3

08/07/2017 08:30 AM - 08/11/2017 04:00 PM ET

Description

Without enough water plants will not grow so where does the farm get its water? What happens if there is a drought like last summer? Explore unique growing strategies such as hydroponics, design and make your own terrarium, conduct scientific field experiments and map out the journey of this natural resource both on the farm and in the wider community.

In this full day version of our Farmer in Training program delve deeper into farm life and broaden your skills and understanding of what it means to be a farmer in 2017. Spend more time in the field planting, weeding and harvesting, play games and cook up some tasty delights in our Barn kitchen. In the afternoons we will welcome local chefs, local artists, or other artisans as we learn new skills and crafts that are founded in nature and celebrate the beauty and bounty of the farm. Bring a lunch each day, snacks provided.

Register before March 18th to enjoy our Early Bird Discount.

Fee: Early Bird Discount General Public $375,  Early Bird Discount Friend of the Farm $335
