THIS SEASON WE’RE THANKFUL FOR YOU: Center Your Giving Campaign

Winter is upon us! Our first exhilarated skiers have already glided over our snow-covered trails, immersed in the solitude and quiet of the winter woods. We are so fortunate at Discovery Center to offer the joys of every season of Wisconsin’s Northwoods. In this season of gratitude, we want to give thanks to our many members, friends, and community.

Thanks to your support:

•    We’ve strengthened and expanded our partnerships with schools, organizations, and businesses, including our college intern program. “We’re immersed in the outdoors. Interns have an opportunity to realize their true potential and the importance of sharing nature with other people.” – 2014 Intern Brent Moore

•    We enhanced environmental education for the community with 30 Traveling Naturalist programs at local organizations, libraries and resorts with almost 1,400 attendees, and Naturalist in the Classroom programs serving 850 local children. “Couldn’t ask for a more experienced, fun expert to come in. Thank you for putting in some extra time to make the presentations so amazing and engaging! Fun facts, fun game, fun adaptation dress up, FUN time all around!” – Laura and the AV-W 1st grade class

•    Our Citizen Science and Master Naturalist programs created volunteer leaders that continue to impact their schools and communities. Locally, we managed 15 active research and monitoring projects, and took a visible role in the state on citizen science lake level monitoring. “I love nature, so just being out observing it is always enjoyable; but knowing that our observations will help to perpetuate this magnificent species makes it all that much more enjoyable!” – Annual Midwest Crane Count participant Jillayne

•    Above all, the Discovery Center will always be a peaceful retreat in the Northwoods where all are welcome to explore, learn, and reconnect with nature. “Everyone just raved about the Discovery Center –for people traveling far and wide – or even from nearby – it’s a slice of heaven.” – Emily and Zane, married at Discovery Center in 2014

In this plugged-in world, places where we can experience the rhythms of the seasons, learn hands-on and nurture a connection to the outdoors are more important than ever. As you make your holiday and end-of-year charitable gifts, please consider a donation to the Discovery Center. Use the enclosed card or donate online at www.discoverycenter.net. Your support is vital to continuing our mission to “Naturally Inspire and Enrich Lives through Meaningful Connections with People, Nature and Community”, for this season, and for all seasons yet to come.
Sincerely,

Azael Meza
Executive Director
