Description
Northern Wisconsin is one of the few areas on the planet blessed with an abundance of Manoomin (Ojibwe), or wild rice. A plant steeped with both ecological and cultural significance, wild rice has shaped both the history and the habitat of our region for centuries. In this presentation Wildlife Biologist Peter David will provide an overview of the ecology, history and harvest of this wetland treasure.
An evening of delicious nibbles and expanding your knowledge. Cash bar and complimentary appetizers from 5-6pm, program from 6-7pm. Hosted monthly in the Discovery Center's Main Lodge. $13 ($10 members). (V)
