Description

Black flies, entanglement, loss of nesting substrate, and changes in water quality are just some of the challenges faced by the loons that will be returning soon to our Northwoods lakes. With years of loon research experience right in our backyard, Wildlife biologist Mike Meyer discusses these challenges and as well as a new citizen science project that will install and monitor 10 new artificial loon nesting platforms aimed at increasing the productivity of loon pairs nesting on the Manitowish Chain.
