Nibbles n' Knowledge: The Food that Grows on the Water

John Haack is a long time wild rice harvester and more recently a wild rice processor.  Until recently he worked as a Natural Resources Educator for University of Wisconsin Extension.  He harvests and processes wild rice and keeps honey bees with his wife in Northwestern Wisconsin.   Join us to hear about the fascinating history and unique biology of wild rice the "food that grows on water".   Learn what is involved in processing and preparing this delicious local food. An evening of delicious nibbles and expanding your knowledge. Donation bar and complimentary appetizers and desserts from 5-6pm, program from 6-7pm. Pre-register by 10/9. $15 ($12 members).  (V)
