Canceled due to weather.  Please check out calendar of event for other bird banding demonstrations this winter and spring.  

The Discovery Center is partnering with the Northwoods Wildlife Center in Minocqua to band rehabilitated songbirds before their release. Drop in for a special public banding demonstration held in the education room at the Northwoods Wildlife Center.  Adults and kids will enjoy seeing live birds up close and learning about bird ecology and research through bird banding.  Adopt a bird for a memorable experience releasing a banded bird. There are special activities just for kids including “band-a-kid” and a migration challenge game. Banding station will not operate in rainy weather or temperatures less than 20° F.  Suggested Donation $5 per Person
