September 12: Weaving Northwoods Stories and Histories  (Register by September 10)

A campfire "nibbles" and presentation with Leon "Buckshot" Anderson, author of nine books on the great outdoors and a legendary fishing guide and renowned storyteller, shares tales from his own family as well as that of a peripheral cast of characters. We'll hear not just the story of a family, but of the building of a Northwoods community.

 

October 17: Wolf or Ma’iingan; Resource or Relative?  (Register by October 15)

Join Wildlife Biologist Peter David as he contrasts some of the cultural perspectives of wolves historically held by many Ojibwe and non-Ojibwe people here in the northwoods, and looks at how those perspectives lead to different contemporary objectives for the wolves inhabiting our landscape today.
