Summary

Special Guest Presenter, Dr. Stanley A. Temple, is the Beers-Bascom Professor Emeritus in Conservation at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. For 32 years he held the academic position once occupied by Aldo Leopold, and during that time he won every teaching award for which he was eligible. We are thrilled that Dr. Temple will be visiting and presenting as a part of our Northwoods Wildlife Fest (3 days of wildlife-focused activities) - and with a talk that will commemorate the centennial anniversary of the Passenger Pigeon's extinction. Their tragic centennial offers a unique opportunity to talk about the significance of the Passenger Pigeon's demise for the ongoing extinction crisis the world is experiencing today.

This presentation is combined with an evening of delicious nibbles. Cash bar and complimentary appetizers from 5-6pm, program from 6-7pm. Hosted monthly in the Discovery Center's Main Lodge.
