2014 Taxes and Estate Planning after DOMA - Oakland
Description
2013 was a fantastic year for marriage equality, and a big transition year for how many couples should be thinking about marriage, taxes, and estate planning. Come learn about how United States v. Windsor changed the game on federal and state tax issues, as well as for estate planning documents, including wills, trusts, and powers of attorney. We will also be covering: (1) special tax and estate planning issues for unmarried couples -- whether state-registered domestic partners or not, and (2) the dramatic 2013 changes to property tax rules affecting unmarried, non-domestic partners who co-own California real property in surprising and unexpected ways. Feel free to bring your partner, spouse, and friends.
