Parents' Book Group
Description
Jump into a good book! Our bimonthly, LGBTQ-parent-curated group is for folks who'd like to connect with other LGBTQ parents over a shared love of books touching on or illuminating our parenting. This month: "All Joy and No Fun: The Paradox of Modern Parenthood."
Drawing on a vast array of sources in history, sociology, economics, psychology, philosophy and anthropology, journalist Jennifer Senior challenges our culture's most basic beliefs about parenthood, while revealing the profound ways children deepen and add purpose to our lives.
Feel free to give suggestions for future selections. Next book group meets March 9th.
Kids will enjoy storytime and fun activities. If registering within 48 hours, please call 415-981-1960 so we can ensure we'll have enough adults to supervise.
Family-friendly dinner provided with advance registration. Held at Alley Cat Books, 3036 24th Street, between Treat and Harrison. [map].
Participation is free, though donations are always appreciated.
We strive to make our programs accessible to all families. Please register for accommodations that would help your family participate to the fullest (e.g. ASL interpreter, translator, childcare providers experienced with kids with disabilities, large print materials, gluten-free food options, etc.). If registering within 48 hours of the event, please call 415-981-1960 to ensure receipt of your request.
