Parents' Book Group & Kids' Storytime
Description
Jump into a good book! Connect with other LGBTQ parents over a love of reading in this bi-monthly, parent-curated group. This month's selection is Pregnant Butch: Nine Long Months Spent in Drag: A Graphic Memoir. Hosted by Polly Pagenhart, author of the Lesbian Dad blog, and Programs Director at Our Family Coalition.
Written and illustrated by A.K. Summers, and based on her own pregnancy, Pregnant Butch strives to depict this increasingly common, but still underrepresented experience of queer pregnancy with humor and complexity.
Free family-friendly dinner and child care provided with advance registration. Kids will enjoy storytime and fun activities. If registering within 48 hours, please call 415-981-1960 so we can ensure we'll have enough adults to supervise.
Held at Alley Cat Books, 3036 24th Street, between Treat and Harrison. [map].
We strive to make our programs accessible to all families. Please register for accommodations that would help your family participate to the fullest (e.g. ASL interpreter, translator, childcare providers experienced with kids with disabilities, large print materials, gluten-free food options, etc.). If registering within 48 hours of the event, please call 415-981-1960 to ensure receipt of your request.
