Talking With Kids About Race: Raising Safe, Informed, & Engaged Kids in 2017
A Panel Discussion with youth, families, and teachers
Join a diverse panel in frank conversations about protection our children's safety and raising them to be resilient and proud of their identities while also showing up for their friends.
We will talk about race, gender and power dynamics in bullying and daily life with families of color and families with other marginilized identities at the center of the conversation. Participants will walk away with practical advice about how we can raise children to be proud of who they are and support them to be empowered and resilient. Families will also learn to identify and acknowledge their privileged identities and help children understand how to be more aware of privilege and share it for justice.
Parents and caregivers of youth of all ages and racial and ethnic backgrounds welcome.
