North Bay LGBTQI Families: 2nd Annual Queer Family Campout and Celebration for Sonoma Pride

OFC is proud to be a community partner to the 2nd Annual Sonoma County Pride Celebration for Queer Families organized by North Bay LGBTQI Families. Participants will spend the day Saturday with family-fun activities - swimming, dancing to a live band, dinner raffle, potluck, campfire, movie, and stargazing. Those who come from the cities may camp out on a beautiful rural farm. Folks will celebrate North Bay LGBTQI+ Families walking in the Sonoma County Pride Parade the next morning in Guerneville!
Come for an hour, stay for the day, or camp out with us!

SCHEDULE FOR CAMPOUT:
- Saturday, June 3rd:
- 1pm: Arrive, set up camp
- 2pm: Pool party, Swimming and Outdoor free play
- 5pm: Hotdogs, Potluck Dinner, Raffle and Silent Auction
- 5pm to 7pm: Shameless Band - live bluegrass music!
- 7pm: Kids in PJs or ready for bed
- 7:30pm: Bonfire and S'mores
- 8:30/9pm: Documentary: A Womb of Their Own with Director Cyn Lubow and Families. There will be opportunity for a Q&A after the film. (must wait for sunset to project the movie, bring your own chairs and blankets)
- 9:00: Bonfire and Stargazing
- 10pm: Lights Out
SCHEDULE FOR SUNDAY:
- Sunday, June 4th:
- 7am: Wake, pack up
- 8am: Pancake Breakfast, pack up
- 9am: Leave for Guerneville - Sonoma County Pride Parade
- 10:30am: Meet group in Guernville to walk in parade!
- 12:00pm: Sonoma County Pride Festival! See Mouths of Babes play! Swim in the Russian River! Lunch at boon eat + drink!
ADDRESS:
- The Campout will be held in Sonoma, California on a private residential farm. -- Please mark GOING on the event RSVP, and the address will be messaged to you Friday 6/2
FEE:
- We are requesting a $10 minimum donation at the door towards the campout to cover expenses, however no one will be turned away for lack of funds!
POTLUCK:
- Please plan to bring a dish to share for the potluck dinner. There is a grill, small fridge and coolers available, as well as warming trays.
AMENETIES:
- There will be a port-a-potty, outdoor sink for handwashing, and an indoor toilet and sink in the barn. There will be a limited number of showers available that must be signed up for in advance at registration.
POOL:
- Bring floatation devices for children who are not strong swimmers. One parent must be in the pool supervising their children. There is no lifeguard on duty. All pool rules must be observed. No running. No glass in the pool area. Swim at your own risk.
CAMPING GEAR:
- It gets cold at night. At a minimum, bring: Tent. Sleeping pads. Sleeping bags. Flashlights.
FARM ANIMALS:
- A sheep, a rooster, hens and a dog. Bring earplugs if you plan to camp, or camp away from the animals!
*To keep this a child-friendly event, and for the health, safety and well being of our families, this is an alcohol-free, drug-free, tobacco/vaping-free event. Upon check-in, attendees will be asked to fill out registration paperwork and sign a waiver. It is the sole responsibility of each parent to watch their own children. This is a working farm - please respect the property, plants and animals so we can have future events at this location. We have the right to ask anyone to leave at any time for any reason, and to refuse entry to the event to anyone, for any reason. No pets please.
